A lovely end to a busy half term!

October 20th, 2017

Today, we held our Harvest assembly- what a wonderful way to end a busy and productive half term. Children sang songs and read the harvest prayers they had written. We were amazed at how very brave our youngest children were. It was their first public performance and they were brilliant, singing about the Little Red Hen.

Thank you to everyone who donated food for the Middlesbrough Food bank and flowers for people in our village who needed a smile. Thanks to the adults who gave their time to deliver flowers with the children and to Mrs Dawson for arranging the deliveries.

I am always humbled by the support and generosity of our school family and the commitment and dedication of our staff.

I wish you all a very happy holiday!

Special visitors from across the globe!

This afternoon, we welcomed some special visitors into school. Poppy and Emma’s cousins, Joe and Georgia, have flown over from their home in New Zealand and came to see what school is like in England. Mrs Watson’s class had already thought of lots of questions to ask our new friends about what life is like in another country.

I think Joe and Georgia were very brave coming into school and being quizzed! I hope they have a super time in England and that they collect many memories to share with their friends upon their return to New Zealand!

Our hard work has paid off – super learning everywhere!

Today, I felt extremely proud as I led adults from our Enquire Learning Trust family around school. We called into each classroom and learning area to see what was happening. We saw some amazing learning going on, with children supporting one another and learning collaboratively. We saw children using learning walls to help them to be independent and were amazed at the high expectations of children throughout the school, from EYFS to Year Six. Adults showed their skills in questioning children to guide their learning and offer them challenge. They are very good at this, as they match their questions to the ability of each child. They know where children are in their learning, where they need to go next and just how to get them there!

Everyone was busy. Everyone was engaged. Everyone was happy!

Our visitors were very impressed that excellent practice was EVERYWHERE!

Three cheers for fabulous learning! Three cheers for the Roseberry family!
