We think E-Learning is great! What do you think?

September 29th, 2016

I am delighted that so many families are interested in our E-Learning programmes and that they took the time to come into school today to learn about blogging, Mathletics, Reading Eggs and Charanga Music!

I’d be really interested to hear your views regarding what we are offering our children – why not comment on this blog?!

Three cheers for RAFT!

September 17th, 2016

On Thursday, the hall was filled with the smell of popcorn and hot dogs as RAFT prepared for the first Cinema Night of the new school year. As the children entered the hall straight after school, the excitement mounted as parents and teachers welcomed them in. The exciting event began with freshly popped popcorn and a drink for everyone before the film started. Children took their seats, the lights were dimmed and the cinema experience was underway…
I would like to offer sincere thanks to the parents who gave their time to organise this brilliant experience for our children. The event ran like clockwork and children were happy, safe and well fed! Everyone had a great time. Thanks, too, to the many staff who gave their time to support RAFT in supervising the children. Finally, I’d like to thank our brilliant children for their excellent behaviour. What a wonderful Cinema Night.
Three cheers for RAFT!

Hooray for great learning!

September 17th, 2016

You may have noticed that we have some new signage on the school buildings. Not only do these signs welcome everyone as they approach our school and direct people to our new main entrance (which will be in operation as soon as our new phone system is installed) but they also remind us of the recipe for great learning. Our Keystones for Learning are what we believe should be evident in all classrooms to enable children to learn and make progress and I’m delighted to say that I see these in action on a daily basis as I walk around school. Hooray for great learning!

A new school year!

September 9th, 2016

Welcome back to what I am sure will be another exciting year in the life of the Roseberry family! It has been lovely to see so many smiley faces this week. Everyone has returned to school ready to learn through fun with their friends. Our new EYFS children have been very brave indeed. They have shown super behaviour and have already been really kind to one another. Yesterday, Mia noticed that William didn’t have any playdough, so she gave him half of hers. What a kind little girl!
You may have noticed that builders and decorators have been very busy in the lower school building during the holiday. We now have a brand new main entrance and reception area, as well as a new office, meeting room and staffroom. All of the classrooms and some of the cloakrooms have been decorated and I have moved my office from the upper to the lower school. We’ve also had pot holes filled! This means that our school will be safer, tidier, and more pleasant to work in. We’ll have much more space, too!
I was amazed at how quickly the builders worked during the holiday and was very excited to watch the new rooms take shape. Every time I came into school, something else had been completed.

We feel very lucky and extend our thanks to the Enquire Learning Trust for making this project possible. Thanks also to the architect who designed the project, the contractors who worked hard to complete it on time and Mr Fields and Mrs Hore for making sure the builders had access throughout the holidays. What a team!
