The end of a busy half term!

May 23rd, 2015

We have reached the end of a short but busy half term! Everyone has worked extremely hard during the past weeks and I am always amazed at the energy and drive of our staff. Staff at Roseberry go the extra mile, striving to ensure that every child has positive and worthwhile learning experiences every day.
We pride ourselves on the positive relationship we have with our families. It’s lovely when we receive positive feedback from parents – even if it’s just a smile in the morning!
This half term we’ve experienced Year Six SATs, visits to an archaeological dig site, a sponsored Zumbathon, scooter sessions to reward super behaviour, ice cream rewards, the magical appearance of a fairy door in the EYFS garden and a fabulous Sports Morning. This is all in addition to our stimulating and enthusing enquiry led curriculum!
I would like to thank every member of our Roseberry family for their hard work and dedication. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and spend time recharging your batteries for the half term ahead – it’s going to be a good one!

Loom band newsflash!

May 16th, 2015

Great news – James and Isobel have raised £27 for the victims of the earthquakes in Nepal. They sold nearly all of the loom band items that James had made at home. What a fantastic result, children! Well done!

What a week!

May 15th, 2015

We’ve had a very busy week, with children and adults working hard with determination to succeed! Year Six showed maturity and focus during their SATs. They tried really hard – even when questions were tough! We had teachers, teaching assistants and adult volunteers on hand to help and to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
This morning, I was shocked to see our EYFS children in their pyjamas. I thought it was time for bed! They practised cleaning their teeth and had a competition to see who could be the quickest at making a bed! This was all part of their Night Time topic. What fun they had!
During assembly this morning, we looked at our fabulous blogsite and celebrated how hard everyone has worked this week.
Once again, I drove home feeling very proud of the Roseberry family!

Thinking of others

May 8th, 2015

I was really proud of James and Isobel yesterday when they asked if they could run a stall, selling items they have made from loom bands, to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Nepal. They stayed in at lunch time to make posters and announced their idea during assembly. It’s wonderful that our children think of others and understand that they belong to a global family. What caring children!

Great behaviour!

May 8th, 2015

This week, we have seen some amazing behaviour across the school. I have witnessed children sharing, working together, being polite and walking sensibly around school. Children have made sure they look smart, wearing full uniform and tucking in their shirts! Look smart, work smart, be smart! Well done, folks!

Blogging is brilliant!

May 1st, 2015

I think I am addicted to blogging! Every night, I can’t wait to look to see who has blogged. It’s impossible for me to be in every class during every lesson every day and so it’s a great way of me being able to see what children have been doing. Reading blogs also makes me feel very proud. Roseberry Academy is a special place to work, learn and play. This is because grown ups work hard to make learning fun and purposeful and this is clear to see when I get home, power up my iPad, and visit roseberryacademy.org
Have a super, well deserved, Bank Holiday everyone!
